Governor, CM greet people on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

jp rajkhowaITANAGAR, Oct 30: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh JP Rajkhowa has extended his warm greetings to the people of the state and country as a whole on the special occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

He expressed hope that the special occasion will promote the spirit of unity and integrity amongst the people of the state and country.


In his message, the Governor said that Sardar Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India played a leading role in the Indian freedom struggle and became the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India. He is credited with achieving political integration of India. Sardar Patel, who took upon his shoulders the onerous task to unite over 500 princely states, and thereby united the whole of diverse India as one nation state.


On this momentous occasion, I join my fellow citizens of Arunachal Pradesh in paying our profound homage to the great patriot and statesman Sardar Patel. I wish that the efforts and ideals of Sardar Patel would continue to be a source of inspiration for all Indians and every one of us would make all efforts to make our country a stronger and prosperous Nation, the Governor added in his message.


Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has also greeted the people on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. He called upon all to be united and fight against the divisive forces to ensure a better society to live in.
