ENTRY FORMALITIES IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH

 

INNER LINE PERMIT:

 

Inner line Permit is an official document issued by the Government of India to allow inward travel of an Indian citizen into a protected/restricted area for a limited period. It is obligatory for India citizens to obtain a permit for entering into the protected State. The document is an effort by the government to regulate movement to certain areas located near the international borders of India. In Arunachal Pradesh, permit is issued by the Secretary (political) of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. It is required for entering Arunachal Pradesh through any of the check gates across the interstate border with Assam or Nagaland.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED: 

Single Permit:  PAN Card/Driving License/Passport/Voter ID and Passport Size Photo.

Group Permit (Primary Applicant): PAN Card/ Driving License / Passport/ Voter ID and Passport Size Photo.

Group Permit (Member): Passport Size Photo.

PROTECTED AREA PERMIT:

 

The Foreigner Act requires foreigners to obtain a Protected Area Permit to visit certain areas of India. This requirement is in addition to getting an Indian visa. In order to get this permit, you must meet certain requirements. Such restrictions are in place due to security reasons. Foreign Tourists can visit in a group of two or more persons as against the earlier requirement of four or more persons. The stay permit for foreign visitors has also been extended to 30 days from the earlier permit of 10 days. Foreign Tourists will have to pay US$ 50 per head to Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh and application for PAP should be applied through a local approval tour operator for maximum results.

 

Foreigners can also obtain the Restricted Area Permit from the following locations:

  • All Foreigners Regional Registration Officers (FRROs) at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata
  • Chief Immigration Officers, Chennai
  • Home Ministry, Govt. of India

Foreign Tourists in a group of 2 or more persons can obtain PAP for a period of 30 days from the following offices:
