Make Arunachal a role model in health care services-CMITANAGAR: “Make Arunachal Pradesh a role model in health care services by creating success stories of its effective health delivery system”, exhorted Chief Minister Nabam Tuki while addressing the second State Health Mission meeting here at Banquet Hall today. He was speaking to a decent gathering of Ministers, MLAs, bureaucrats, doctors and health workers.

Good Health for all should be taken up on a mission mode in the state under all existing means of Central as well as state health machineries, asserted the Chief Minister. He called for putting up collective effort to sum up the shortcomings in delivering health services to the common people.

Tuki hinted for single window monitoring mechanism for social sectors in order to ensure that there is no laxity in terms of deliverance of health services in all level. He directed the Chief Secretary to work out modalities in this direction.

The CM further called upon the doctors, para-medical staffs and health workers to imbibe work culture in order to restore the faith of the people towards Government hospitals. He assured to provide all required equipment to the hospitals, like diagnosis equipment, medicines etc. besides opining for opening of Pharmacy in the hospital itself to facilitate the patients.

While encouraging the NGOs running PHCs and CHCs in far flung areas of the state by successfully catering to the health needs of the people, the Chief Minister said that such initiatives need to be extensively promoted.

While welcoming constructive suggestions from various stakeholders, the CM requested the State Health Mission to record it and think over for its implementation. He assured of providing all possible help to the health department.

Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Rajesh Tacho appealed the state government to give emphasis on health sector. He put forward various challenges faced by the department and urged for its early settlement. He said, without good health, no development can properly take place.

Earlier, Commissioner Health K R Meena in his welcome address gave a brief on State Health Mission and its objectives.

Mission Director NHM P N Thungon gave a brief on the achievements and challenges of National Health Mission programme in the state.

The meeting was also attended by Home Minister, Parliamentary Secretaries, Chief Secretaries, Commissioners and Secretaries, Director of Health and Family Welfare, National Health Mission Project Director and host of other stakeholders.
