Huge Power Resources Should be Tapped, Modi to Arunachal Pradesh

statehood5Feb 20, Itanagar: 29th Statehood Day of Arunachal Pradesh celebrated at Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar became a historical moment for the state after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the AC Express train linking Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi and also  launched 132 KV Power Transmission Project with an estimated cost of rupees 3200 crores along with 100 crores Drinking Water Project for state capital.

In his address, Modi said that Arunachal Pradesh has huge power resources and its potential should be aptly tapped. He, however, lamented that even after 60 years of India’s Independence, Arunachal Pradesh is facing safe drinking water problem. Stating that through education poverty can be eradicated, he said his government is taking special care of education sector to improve over all development.

Further, Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed that 6 Agriculture Universities for North East Region and 18 FM Radio Stations have been sanctioned for the development of the region and opined that Arunachal Pradesh can become an Organic Farming State in North East region. He also emphasized on promoting Make in North East and urged the people of the state to use their natural potential for economic development of the state in particular and country as a whole.
