Centre to invest Rs 10,000 Cr. in NE power sector

arunachal pradesh map sGuwahati, The Centre will invest Rs 10,000 crore in the power sector of the eight North Eastern states, including Sikkim, Union Power, said Coal and NRE Minister Piyush Goyal here on April 9. “The Centre has undertaken major initiatives in the North East for speedy implementation of power projects and I urge all the eight NE state governments to extend their support in this endeavour,” said Goyal at the inaugural session of the Conference of Power, Renewable Energy and Minesheld.

State’s independent HC in the offing

independent High CourtITANAGAR, Apr 06: Arunachal Pradesh has re-affirmed the need to have an independent High Court of the State.
Participating in the Joint Conference of Chief Justices of High Courts and Chief Ministers at New Delhi on Sunday, Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development, Chowna Mein, who represented the State on behalf of the Chief Minister, informed that the required land for establishment of Permanent High Court has already been identified and allotment order is being issued shortly.

Power sector in Arunachal Pradesh has earned Rs 544.21 crore in 6 years: Minister

power-sector-in-arunachal-pradeshITANAGAR: The power sector in Arunachal Pradesh has earned a revenue of Rs 544.21 crore in the last six years, state Power (electrical) minister Tanga Byaling said here today.

During 2009-10 the department earn Rs 75.81 crore, Rs 90.82 crore (2010-11), Rs 80.53 crore during 2011-12, Rs 84.80 crore in 2012-13, Rs 93.08 crore in 2013-14 and Rs 119.17 crore in 2014-15 (till January 2015), he said.

Arunachal Vision 2030NEW DELHI, Mar 28: In pursuance of the Cabinet decision, the first Consultation of the Steering Group on Arunachal Vision 2030 was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki at New Delhi today. The Steering Group members include former Governor General JJ Singh, former members of the Planning Commission B K Chaturvedi and Saumitra Chaudhuri, State’s Chief Secretary and Secretary Planning.
